Camp Kinder Ring is an overnight camp located in Hopewell Junction NY for Dutchess County boys and girls ages 7 to 16. We at Kinder Ring provide land and water activities, opportunities for artistic expression and outdoor adventure while providing a sense of community.

Beginning in 1927, Camp KR and is owned and operated by The Workmen’s Circle/Arbeter Ring. Today The Workmen’s Circle/Arbeter Ring is an activist-based national organization which is the prominent voice for the continuation of Jewish heritage. Their mission supports the operation of a safe, fun summer camp in a nurturing Jewish community. Our commitment to striving for a better world and our focus on secular Jewish values contribute to the warm and caring environment we have created.

Our programming is designed to provide a full experience for 4 week or 8 week sessions. Kinder Ring encourages both individual choice and structured group participation in planning the daily schedule. By encouraging teamwork, shared living and guiding personal development, our staff demonstrates their commitment to the healthy growth of our Dutchess County campers.

A large part of our camper’s day consists of our plethora of activites on our 100+ acres. We have tons of daily programs ranging from sports, arts and crafts, water activities, and performing arts but here are just a fewwe offer:

• archery

• glassmaking

• scavenger hunts

• beach volleyball

• introduction to the Yiddish language

• talent shows

Camp Kinder Ring is more than a Dutchess County summer getaway. It is a community of caring people. Located on Sylvan Lake in Hopewell Junction NY, Camp Kinder Ring is a co-ed sleep away camp founded in 1927. Our main goals at Camp KR is to teach our campers valuable life lessons all while providing a safe environment in a Jewish community. We offer a plethora of activities and programs ranging from arts and crafts, sports, water games, performing arts, and just about everything in between. Our large scale of programs provides daily fun and excitement at summer camp in Dutchess County during your 3, 4, or 7 week sessions.

With all this talk of summer entertainment, we can’t forget to mention our safe and nurturing environment that Camp KR provides. Our staff is dedicated to keeping our campers safe while also being role models and teaching them leadership and responsibility. Our mature adult staff includes seasoned professionals, many of whom have been with us since they were campers themselves. Our three most senior staff leaders have a combined total of 48 years at Kinder Ring. Many of our senior staff members are teachers, social workers and professionals working with children in the off-season. We provide a camper to counselor ratio of 3:1. At least 2-3 counselors live in each bunk with 8-12 campers. Campers are supervised at all times; 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
