Olympic Games
Towards the end of the summer, a second “breakout” announces the start of Olympics. Camp Kinder Ring is known for pulling off the biggest surprises, especially when it comes to the tradition of “breakout.” This announcement of teams is built around an all-camp gathering or activity where the names of the two country teams are presented to the whole camp. Past breakouts included everything from celebrity guest appearances, to an NFL star hosting a “Friday Night Lights” game, a glow party featuring a DJ and LED robot dancers, and many more exciting and thrilling starts to the days of all-camp competitions.
During the Opening Ceremonies of Kinder Ring Olympics, one of the most meaningful events of the summer takes place when Olympic torch is lit. The chosen Kinder Ring Torchbearer each year is honored for his/her dedication and service to Kinder Ring and the Kinder Ring family. Each summer, many of the over 40 past Torchbearers come back to camp to help pass the torch to the newest honoree. Seeing generations of Kinder Ring legends come together while inspiring our future generations is something to behold!
The Olympic Games at Kinder Ring bring out the best in everyone – spirit, sportsmanship, creativity, and effort. As campers and staff learn about the rich culture and history of each team’s country, they compete in a variety of events, earning Olympic medals for the pride of their teams. Olympic Sing is the culmination of their efforts and an exciting ceremony filled with traditions that are remembered for decades.
