The official beginning of Maccabean Games or Olympics where team names are announced and “split sheets” indicate each camper’s team assignment. Break Out is a big surprise and you never know what it will be! |

This is a big honor! Campers are chosen by their counselors and group leaders to lead their divisions for Maccabean Games and Olympics. |

Cultural Center |
Awesome indoor facility up on the hill near the track used for all-camp events and indoor gym activities. |
Electives |
A great opportunity for campers to choose those activities that they would like to try or spend more time doing. Each week, campers have the opportunity to change their elective choices. |
Fake Out |
Fake version of “break out” for Maccabean Games or Olympics. Fake outs always keep everyone on their toes and waiting for the real break out! |
Free Play |
A great opportunity for unstructured hang out time! After dinner each night, campers can visit the canteen, participate in activities around camp, and just hang out with friends. |

Maccabean Games (Mac Games) |
The first all-camp competition of the summer. Campers and staff are split into two teams which have significance to Jewish heritage and campers will learn about their teams’ namesakes. During several days of athletic and creative competitions, the spirit around camp is amazing! Mac Games takes place during the first session of camp. |

Two indoor facilities at camp where divisional activities take place. |
Milk Call |
The entire camp takes a break in mid-afternoon to enjoy a healthy snack and cold drinks. |
Mr./Miss Kinder Ring of the Week (Year) |
Special honor for campers who exemplify the friendship, love, and spirit that is Kinder Ring through kindness, compassion, and sportsmanship. |
Olympics |
Many say this is the best week of camp! During this special camp-wide competition, all campers and staff are split into two teams. The teams for Olympics are two countries of the world and campers learn about their nations while competing all over camp in Olympic-style events just like the real games. Olympics takes place during the second session of camp. |
Performing Arts Center (PAC) |
Large building near the lake where the camp show and other performances take place on the stage. |
Proudly Stand |
Kinder Ring’s alma mater (camp song). Whenever camp joins together to sing “Proudly Stand,” the Kinder Ring family shines. |
Recall / Shower Hour |
The hour before dinner when daytime activities have ended and campers shower and prepare for dinner. |
Rest Hour |
Quiet time after lunch when campers relax in their bunk areas before afternoon activities begin. |
Reveille |
Wake-up bugle – another amazing day of camp begins! |
Rutzball |
A ball game that can only be found at Kinder Ring! A kickball is hit with a bat and runners advance around the base paths from third base to first. It sounds silly, but it’s ours and we love it! |
Shtiller Ovnt |
In Yiddish, this means “quiet evening” and is a special Friday night ritual at Kinder Ring. The entire camp dresses in all white, goes to the flagpole for song and dance, and continues to dinner to have a Shabbes meal together. |
Sing |
The most spirited nights at Kinder Ring take place at the end of Mac Games and Olympics! During both Sings, the two teams perform songs and skits, reveal amazing artistic banners of team identity, and the winning teams of the games are announced. At the conclusion of each Sing, everyone joins together as one camp to sing Proudly Stand. |
Torchbearer |
The highest honor for an individual at Kinder Ring which is revealed at the start of Olympics. Just like in the real games, the Torchbearer lights our Olympic torch which remains lit throughout Olympics. |
